WELCOME TO
PEGASUS RIDING FOR THE DISABLED GROUP

Pegasus RDA offers horse riding and horse care sessions to children and adults with disabilities and we are a member group of the Riding for the Disabled Association UK. Our vision is to provide disabled people with the opportunity to improve their health and wellbeing through the therapeutic power of horses. Established in 2017, we are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, run and managed entirely by volunteers. We operate from North Cheshire Equestrian Centre in Carrington, Trafford.

Our experienced team can cater for all levels of rider and our participants work in groups of similar ability to achieve their goals and have fun! Our sessions are run on Sunday mornings between 9:30 and 12:30, with the support of our volunteer team. Each session is 30 minutes long, and we can accomodate up to five riders per session.

Our participants at Pegasus RDA get to enjoy educational or therapeutic sessions designed to individuals aims and abilities.

Our volunteers are part of a fun and dynamic team with roles that vary from working with riders and horses to fundraising and coaching roles.

We participate in many great events in the calendar year including shows, fundraising, conferences and training courses.

"Volunteering for Pegasus RDA has changed my life: really! I was first attracted to it by my love of horses – although it’s years since I’ve ridden – and Pegasus RDA gives me a weekly dose of horsey time – without the fear of having to clamber aboard! The extras were an unexpected but delightful bonus: meeting a wonderful group of fellow volunteers, many of whom have now become good friends; a bit of exercise on a Sunday morning when otherwise I’d be languishing in bed; and, last but certainly not least, being able to share in the sheer joy and the development of our disabled riders. I hope I can continue to volunteer for years to come."
